Student Wellbeing

We commit to providing safe and supportive environments which nurture the wellbeing of all students and staff in our community, and hold firmly to the belief that all students and staff have a right to be safe, respected and valued in an inclusive environment. We know that when students are happy, they are more engaged in their learning.

Schools benefit from wellbeing and pastoral care support and initiatives through Sydney Catholic Schools – in areas such as anti-bullying, positive behaviour, student counselling, refugee support and child protection – which range from universal support for all students, to targeted interventions for students with complex social and emotional needs.

St Andrew’s Catholic Primary School is an School Positive Behaviour (SPBL) for Learning school and positive behaviour is encouraged and celebrated. Bullying is addressed and managed through a variety of programs in the school as well as external performances which highlight the impact of bullying.

We focus on student wellbeing within our caring Catholic environment to meet the personal, social and spiritual needs of students, staff and their families. Our programs include Playground Buddies, Peer Support, Seasons for Growth, Class Circles and we offer individual counselling for those students who may need it.
